  • Social Responsibility & Fun Program

Maldives tour gives you a chance to explore vibrant and colorful underwater world and soak up the sun on, perhaps, some of the best beaches in the world. This little paradise is home to some of the best holiday resorts, making it a favorite getaway for travelers.

On your Maldives tour, you can see coral reefs that mushroomed up around the sides of volcanoes; submerged in the ocean, they have turned into coral islands of astounding beauty. Picturesque locales like Male and Southern Atolls are among the favored destinations here, owing to their breath-taking splendor.

Day 1:
Upon arrival at Male International Airport you will be greeted and transferred by vehicle to your hotel on Hulhumale. Settle in after your flight before taking your first steps on the sands of this tropical urban paradise.

Day 2:
Spend the day accompanied by your guide. Following collection from your hotel venture on a Male City Tour, visiting the fish market and local market, Presidents Palace, Sultan Park, Friday Mosque. Stop for lunch at one of the many restaurants overlooking the water front before taking the public ferry to Villimale. Here join Save the Beach and discover the quieter side of city life by exploring the smaller island of Villimale, located south west of Male. Wander the quiet streets, learn the names of local trees, visit the spice factory (subject to opening times) and learn more about the conservation work being carried out by Save the Beach. Sample traditional ‘hedikaa’ at a local café on the beach– traditional sweet and savory snacks served with black tea and taken between 3.00 and 5.00pm before returning to Male.

Day 3:
Following breakfast depart on a traditional Maldivian dhoni for an underwater encounter you won’t forget. Discover scuba diving with our trained PADI professionals. You will receive instruction on how to assemble and use SCUBA equipment, how to enter the water, safety practices, breathing techniques and diving skills before entering the water for the first time. Accompanied by a dive instructor there will be the opportunity to dive to a depth of 5m. Those not wishing to try a dive can snorkel or swim under supervision. The dives will be spread over the full day and we will visit the local island of Himmafushi for lunch at a local café. Himmafushi, located 17 km north of the capital Male is a typical fishing island with about 750 inhabitants, sandy roads and palm trees. You can walk around the island in approx. 40min and watch the locals going about their daily routine. Visit the local boat building yard to see the carpenters at work and discover island life first hand.

Day 4:
This morning travel north to the local island of Dhiffushi where some of the ladies of the village will share experience of making traditional crafts. Learn to weave palm fronds, create sweeping brushes from palm and perhaps make coir rope, while the men will teach you how to knot the seat of the traditional chair the ‘joali’. Then it is in to the ‘kitchen area’ to learn how to cook a traditional Maldives lunch which you will share with the family in their home. This afternoon a tour of the island including a visit to the mosque to meet the Imam and learn about the Islamic faith. There is also another opportunity to experience traditional Maldives tea, ‘hedikaa’ at a local café.

Day 5:
Following breakfast at the guesthouse you will be taken on a morning snorkeling trip in search of Nemo and the many beautiful multi coloured coral and marine life in the Maldives. Just before sunset you will board a traditional Maldivian fishing dhoni in order to cruise the Indian Ocean and weather permitting enjoy a Maldivian sunset with the possibility to catch a glimpse of schools of dolphins. You can also try your hand at fishing Maldivian style. The Maldives is unique in that its history depends on tuna fishing and the locals are excellent fishermen using pole and line and are happy to share their line fishing skills with you.
