Start with a visit to the V&A Museum where you will find one of the world's greatest collections of decorative arts, in such varied fields as ceramics, sculpture, portrait miniatures and photography. Among the highlights are the Britain 1500-1900 galleries, which are arranged chronologically to trace the history of British design from the reign of Henry VIII to that of Queen Victoria. Then you could visit the Science Museum. The museum features seven floors of educational and entertaining exhibits, including the Apollo 10 command module and a flight simulator. After a busy day in London you will head to the West Midlands where you will spend the next couple of days. Tonight, use the restaurant onsite where you can choose from international and local favourites.
This morning you could opt to head to Birmingham Back to Backs Museum. It is set in the city centre; just a stone's throw away from other city attractions and areas of retail therapy. You can take a tour around the museum where you can experience life at the courtyard and meet characters from the 1840s to the 1970s. Then you could go to the Bullring Shopping Centre- one of the largest shopping centres in the UK which offers a spectacular range of the most imaginative and desirable shops. Then you will play your first tour fixtures. Fixtures are usually played during the late afternoon with local club teams and you will be escorted to your fixtures by our representative to ensure things run smoothly. After your fist match you will be pleased to sit down and finish the day with a well-deserved dinner.
This morning you can opt to step back in time with a ride on the Severn Valley railway line. A wonderful way to spend a day - The Severn Valley Railway operates mainly steam-hauled passenger trains between Bridgnorth, Bewdley and Kidderminster, a journey of about 16 miles, along the beautiful Severn Valley. There is no better way to see the beauty of the River Severn than from one of these steam-hauled trains. Then back to sport with your second cricket fixture. Return back to the hotel and round off the day with dinner at the restaurant.
This morning you can opt to head to into Shrewsbury town. Set amidst glorious countryside near to the Welsh Borders, it is one of England's finest medieval market towns. The town centre is packed with timber-framed black & white buildings, steep narrow streets and alleyways. A local guide can take you on a tour to some of the 600 listed buildings including the Castle, now a regimental museum and the world-famous Shrewsbury Abbey, home of the fictional Brother Cadfael. Charles Darwin was born and educated in Shrewsbury and all around you will find reminders of his association with the town. Next to the river you can relax in the beautiful Quarry Park, location for the annual Shrewsbury Flower Show.
Back to sport later on with your final tour fixture. By now, the students will have acclimatised to their surroundings and be keen to put in a good performance later on in the day. Prior to departure your tour manager will have discussed the format and standard of opposition required in order to get the most out of your tour. Your group will then have dinner in town to celebrate and reflect on all the amazing things you have done this week.
Today it’s time to check out of hotel and head to London for more sightseeing using your London pass. You will have the opportunity to visit attractions that are on your list of places to visit. On the final night, it has become a tradition for touring teams to hold an awards ceremony to decide on the player of the tour, most goals etc.
